What’s new in Version 4.0

Longwatch Version 4.0 contains a number of significant enhancements over prior versions:

Longwatch Video Engine (LVE)

  • The software that provides all the power of the Longwatch system can be loaded into the customer’s own Windows XP computer.
  • Up to 12 digital IP cameras supported per instance of the LVE.
  • Multiple copies of the LVE can be installed in a single computer to handle more cameras.
  • Support for MPEG4 native streaming
  • Support for up to 30 fps and 1280x1024 resolution
  • Event triggering from:
  • Camera I/O
  • External I/O
  • Camera video image analysis
  • Camera audio

Licensing

Techique enables customers to purchase to suit their exact needs. Can purchase as few or as many licenses as necessary. Field expandable.

Camera and access point licenses are “floating”: can be applied to any RVE, LVE or Micro and move around as needs change.

Event Detection

  • Support for camera-based events (I/O, video image analysis)
  • Support for audio-based event detection (IP cameras only.)

DVR Capability

  • High resolution video storage and retreival
  • Audio recording at the video engine

Interfacing to other systems

  • Modbus Gateway Server: an alternative to OLE for Process Control (OPC) provides an interface to non-Windows or non-OLE systems.

Remote Video Engine (RVE)

  • The RVE has been expanded to support up to 4 analog and 2 IP cameras (or up to 6 IP cameras.)
  • Video resolution for analog cameras has been improved to 640x480.
  • Video resolution for digital cameras has been improved to 1280x1024.
  • Bulk storage on the RVE has been expanded to 250GB.
  • Frame rates up to 30fps are available
  • Supports up to 9 access points

Micro Video Engine

  • New member of the product family
  • 10 watts of power – ideal for solar-powered applications
  • Supports external storage
  • Supports up to 3 access points
  • External I/O available for interfacing to event detectors

Access Control

  • Support for HID card reader via RS-232 interface
  • Keypad can be used as access point (in lieu of card reader)
  • Expanded number of access points
